Below is a select sample of my past works.

ardor, Valve Amplifier

Ardor - great warmth of feeling

Ardor is a valve amplifier made from recycled native New Zealand timber. This project is organic, aimed at creating ‘sustainable sound’ which involves reflection on the materials used to create music equipment. This 5W amp is intended for live and studio use.

Below is a sample video of Ardor in use.

Noisy boy, soundscape violin

Noisy Boy is a unique sound design tool which can be used in both live and studio performance. The aim for this project was to design a soundscape tool which took the traditional instrument of a violin and explored the way in which a system could be implemented to inspire a unique perspective to the way a performer may interact or create sounds with a violin. The system implements a Fuzz pedal and Solenoid Motor, these separate systems were built to afford modularity.

This instrument was built using a wine box, wood, broken beer bottle, guitar strings and tuning pegs. I included a fuzz pedal within the system which I called the Fuzzy Muzzy, this pedal is enclosed within the body of the slide guitar.

Within the video below I use a loop pedal to record live drums and guitar before playing the slide guitar overtop.
